Embrace Your Humanness π€ΈπΎββοΈ
Aug 21, 2023I am on my period week, which means that I am a bit sluggish, have lower energy, and everything takes me longer to accomplish.
It's OK...
I wanted to be both vulnerable and open about it because we don't have to be perfect in our lives while still enjoying our life and taking steps forward.
PERFECTIONISM is something that I was taught to believe in. Like, I have to be perfect or I can't be human.
But this is what I've learned
PROGRESS ISN'T MADE THROUGH PERFECTION.
Often, you can move forward on days you don't feel 100%. You can still take little steps and little actions while being super gentle on your body and yourself.
You can have a MINIMAL PLAN list of things that are essential for you to complete - to move forward. Do that and go rest and take care of your body.
Some things to remember:
1. Life isn't an all-or-nothing approach
2. Progress is made in taking little steps
3. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness
4. Being human means having easy and hard days
5. Being compassionate towards yourself is non-negotiable.
I have learned so much about self-compassion and self-acceptance through my connection to spirit and spiritual guides and spiritual teachers.
Here is a picture of me in Indonesia almost 10 years ago, taking a break from life, sitting down to meditate.
